David deCastro
My work has always explored themes of order and chaos, and frequently begins with the randomness of a found object (never beginning with a concept or theme for which I have to find "the right thing"). Once found, I indulge the impulse to create an ordered composition by manipulating and abstracting the object and/or the world in which it exists. My current work continues this exploration through block imprints on canvas, using acrylic, wood fiber, and charcoal.
